We got to travel to Colorado the first of February for the special double treat of having Trey's baptism and Luke's blessing. It was a great occasion. Besides us, Tom & Kristy's family, Christie and Darren's family and Jer and Liz's family all came. It was quite a houseful, but lots of great memories.
We were pretty worried as we were traveling from the airport to Trav and Allison's because there on the freeway in super cold weather we had a flat tire. It was a Town & Country van and wouldn't you know, someone had a great idea to put the spare under the middle of the car.
So there we were--dad and Darren trying to figure out where it was, then how to get it out, then how to get it to drop down--Christie on the phone with the rental people, kids starving and freezing cold. Dad finally laid down his leather coat and crawled under in the snow and mud and after 40 minutes of so we got on our way again. We thought it might be a bad omen.
Things went pretty good after that. We got to meet Luke and he is adorable. I loved, loved holding him. I had to fight to get him though. He was the most popular person there.
He is such a sweet baby and seems to take all the noise and busy life in stride.
The cousins had such a great time together. I am sure Trav and Allison's home will never be the same.
The boys had wars with their weapons, and I couldn't catch all of them cause they wouldn't slow down for the picture.
The girls played dress up, house and everything else.
It was quite the job to feed everyone, but Allison had everything planned and we all ate good.
Saturday was Trey's baptism. The program was so good and there was such a great spirit there.
Grandpa gave the baptism talk (hint, hint, it is nice to have grandpa's participate!) and did a great job, Allison's sister sang and it was beautiful and then Grandma LeDuc gave a great talk on the Holy Ghost. It was a pretty special day.
After the baptism we went to Brody's game and that was fun.
He is aggressive and really goes after the ball. Josh and Colton came as well and that made him pretty happy.
The next morning we awoke to a winter wonderland. So much in fact that church was canceled! That put a damper in the plans, but then again, it turned out to be really special. Allison's father and their bishop came a little after one to their home, along with the family and some friends and Trey was confirmed and Luke was blessed.
Travis gave some beautiful blessings to both boys.
The spirit was really strong and it turned out to be very memorable.
Unfortunately, we had to leave shortly after to get to the airport. Allison fixed us all a great lunch. We left a huge mess for them, but a much quieter house.
