Didn't work!

Okay, so that didn't work. I will try again. This blog will be backwards I think. At least I got the picture of them jumping to be under the post. That is a first. I haven't talked with Kim & Daniel lately. They are house hunting within their ward boundaries and nothing has turned up yet. John & Laura got to go to Colorado this weekend for her friends wedding. John also started school. I can tell that no one has come to see us lately because this is my computer screen wallpaper. John set this up for me here. I never know what it will be after someone comes to visit. At least they could have been in this picture with Lucky! We got to visit with Reed this week. He was offered another position at the hospital and was debating the pros and cons of that. Hard decision but dad said he has made his decision now and feels good about it. It was good to see him again. We get to go to Colorado for Brody's baptism so we are excited about that. He said he had a great birthday until he crashed on his bike last night. I wanted to put on the pictures from Logan's party yesterday. He had swimming and food. Two great combinations. Everyone had fun! Logan's day: New swim toy He had a sports cake. Big surpriseNow for party guests: Colton jumping to his dadJosh loved going off the diving boardLucy loved the slideZack loved everything JD kept his dad busy and loved being in the water and climbing, etc. I don't know why he looks unhappy in this pictureAddie had a great time--mostly with her cousinsI love this picture of GracieI love the fact that Averie likes to "pose"I didn't get Sydney or Taylor individual so here they are. Of course I got reprimanded for the moms--except Kristy decided to be HAPPY and Christie showed me what she thought of my attempts to create a journal. Yes, people, that is a fake yawn. Oh well, I loved it. Thanks for a great party, Jer and LizJer's giving me a finger in warning. What is it about you all that you don't let me take pictures??? Anyway, have a great week. Yeah, no work tomorrow. I love it. Love you, Mom

Experiment

I think I frustrated Christie the other day when she was trying to explain how to do things on the blog, so I am going to try and see if I can figure out what she was saying. This experiment may fail by oh well. I loved to see the blogs updated again. It has been awhile for some of you. Kim still doesn't have internet connection so I really miss hers since we don't get to talk very often. Our week was busy as always. Dad got the trampoline in and it looks good. C&D got one also and set it up. The kids were loving it when we were there last Sunday. Laura was trying to see how high she could bounce John and she did pretty good.

Ongoing project

Greetings! This has been another busy week. We went to Kristy's mom's funeral on Wednesday and it was such a great tribute to her and her life. Kristy's talk was so sweet and tender. Leslie and Darian did a great job also. The music and prayers and other talks I though were so good and appropriate--and Tom even sang with the family song--that was major! I think she would have been so pleased. I know from experience that there will still be many rough days ahead for Kristy, so keep her in your thoughts and prayers. C&D got new callings--they are in the nursery and Christie is glad about that. They promised them that they would only be there for 6 months. I am anxious to hear how it went today. Daniel got a new calling also--that of ward mission leader, which he is excited about as well. Kim is learning the ins and outs of primary and is liking it. She also gets to spend time in the nursery when they don't have enough help, which I guess is often. John and Laura moved out yesterday and John said he didn't need help cause it was only going to take a few hours. It ended up an all day affair and he hurt his back in the process. Darren went over to help, thank goodness, but I feel so bad the rest of us didn't. Laura was trying to find a place for everything last night and they were both so tired. Allison has been busy planning the birthdays and baptism. It is coming so soon and we are excited to be going. Brody has his own ideas about what should happen--and he doesn't want a long program! Everyday I think I am going to call R&A and find out how they are doing. I feel so bad I don't get to talk with them very much. I know they are in such a busy stage of life right now--especially with 2 in Jr high. Logan was so excited to bring us his invitation to his birthday party next weekend. And, I didn't realize it but he is starting kindergarten this week also. I was thinking he would have another year, but he just made it under the deadline. We had so much company yesterday--it was the most we have had since we moved. Jer came a couple of times and then again with his family in the evening. Tom came a couple of times, and John came and deleted the picture I took of him--he is in BIG trouble! Then the comcast guy was here for a couple of hours--we changed cause it will save us money but I am worried about the service cause we have already had to call them a couple of times. We have no caller ID and we don't have voice messaging yet. We do have long distance though. Then my sister showed up. She has visited me once in 3 1/2 years and then yesterday. Gennie was asleep in the car. Allyson had brought me the book titled Best Poets and Poems/2007, and hers was the first poem in the book, so I am glad she is finding success. So as far as pictures go--I can't figure out how to put words with the pictures without publishing each picture separately, so if there is a way to do that, maybe someone could let me know. Dad is working on the trampline hole in the sand box. He is also showing his--don't take anymore pictures face. Jer showed up and visited for a minute, then he tried out the new drinking fountain dad put in. Logan and family delivering his birthday invitation and Allyson and her book were the last visitors. Hope everyone has a great week! Love you all.

This has been a sobering week. Our thoughts and prayers and love go to Kristy and her family. It is never easy and although they have great comfort in knowing that their mom and wife, grandmother, etc is happy and pain free, you just miss them so much. I am glad I got to know Sheila. I remember our conversations when Kristy was pregnant with the twins and after they were born and how concerned she was. She was so appreciative of me although I didn't do anything, but she was so happy that someone was going to be there to help since she couldn't. One of the greatest tributes I can say about her is that she raised a wonderful daughter. The week started with a celebration of Addie's birthday and Christie invited all to come for cake and ice cream. The cousins were so happy to be together. The little girls spent their time on the slide and swing set, the boys just had fun running around their back yard and Sis organized a kick ball game. Dad and Liz made up the cheerleading section. Jer, Tom and Darren were the heavy weights in the outfield first. John and the rest of us females made up the other team. The kids went with who ever they wanted to at the moment. We had fun. (We missed R&A's fam) Addie loved having her cake and loved having her birthday. Thanks so much for having us over Christie. School starts tomorrow for the Utahans. Kylie and T&A's family already have started. Hope everyone has great teachers and will make great friends. Have a great week. Sure love you all!

No camera

Hey family, this was going to be an email cause John wondered why I didn't write them anymore, but alas, my addresses didn't transfer from the dial up juno so here goes. He is saying I won't have a record if the blogs ever break down or something like that. I left my camera at C&D's over a week ago and since I don't get to see them that often anymore, I haven't gotten it back yet. I would include a picture of Addie, who finally had her birthday she has been talking about for so long and Liz who celebrated hers this week also. Hope they were great days! I also would have included a picture of John and Jer as they took pity on dad and I and helped get the yard ready for the mulch. They worked all day with us and before they left, we were able to start on the one planting bed. I know their muscles are aching today! Thank you both so much and thank you Laura and Liz for sacrificing them to our cause. This move has been an adjustment in not seeing most of you anymore. We don't get to see T&K or C&D hardly at all. We are closer to R&A but still don't get to see them either. Jer has stopped by on occasion but now he is starting his new transfer to the Payson hospital so he won't be out this way much. At least I will see Liz at the Dr's office every month. John and Laura have stopped by on a few occasions. It really is too quiet in our house and hope you all will find occasion to stop and see us soon. I haven't talked with T&A lately, but I did love seeing her blog. I haven't talked to Kim forever either and she hasn't had internet to update her blog either. Kylie did start school last Monday though and was doing okay. Kim is having a hard time with public schools compared to the private though. Hope things are going better now. Dad has been in a lot of pain with his knee and got back into the Dr. He wouldn't give him another cortizon shot and told him he just needs to have the surgery. So, dad has it scheduled for 9/24 and they will do both knees at the same time. He can't drive for 3 months after and has heafty restrictions on what he can do. I am anxious--undertatement--with no income and basically none to speak of this whole year, our savings have been depleted and 2 mortages--I wonder how we got ourselves into this mess. I know we have always been blessed--I remember so many times when I thought there wasn't an answer, and something would always come through for us--so I am having a weak faith moment. However, it makes you wonder if your choices and consequences make it right for the Lord to bail you out always. I don't know. So, my faith is weak in myself--not the Lord and I know even when we are stupid and do dumb things, He is still there for us. Anyway, we love you all so much and pray for your success. Love, Mom

Aug 2, 2008

Hey, fam! We don't have internet connected yet or the computer moved, so thought I would just jot a note since I won't make the trip here tomorrow--gas prices! Anyway, we are getting settled, but can get lonely in that house without family around. We are hoping to get grass in in a week or two--probably 2 since dad is spreading the mulch this week. Everything else is pretty much done. We did find out that we don't have insulation in part of our house--the whole side of our bedroom and bath. Dad talked to the guys and they are coming on Tues--big mess. Dad told me to be prepared. We will go to the new ward tomorrow. That is always such a daunting experience for me, even if I know some of the people. I know we have several patients in that ward as well. They asked me a year ago when we were moving in. Linda Stoker is the new RS pres and she and Dennis stopped by and visited the other night. Anyway, hope to hear from you all soon. I miss Kim's blog. She is having a hard time getting internet connections. Hope all is well. Sure love you all, Mom
